![]() ![]() Ghosts are usually always just out of sight.leaving the player to think about what just happened. When Reapers actually do attack head on, they will drop the player into a state of panic, causing them to dash away. I’m unsure if it’s intensional, but reapers tend to be much quieter when stalking, making it so that they will either catch the player by surprise, or will force anxiety on a player that knows it’s there, but can no longer tell where it is. Their roar makes sure the player knows they are there was before they can ever be seen. They have a part of their AI dedicated to stalk you rather than to kill you. ![]() Reapers have the sole mechanic of keeping players scared of them by never really attacking directly.Go to the artic spires, go get what you need, leave and never return. This will traverse in tunnels, ambush surface dwellers, not even elevation will help. The only potential counter is the thumper, but the duration is finite. And the PRAWN suit is not guaranteed to survive, you need the repair tool at all times. The snowfox can take a couple hits before being destroyed. You thought the snow stalkers are dangerous on land? This thing eats them like nothing. Ice worm: The only living land based Leviathan is also the most dangerous out there. Their 1 hit kill attack is even with you at full health. Sea Dragon: The only ranged Leviathan (if you don't count the reefback with tiger plants), these patrol 2 essential areas that are quite deep. 4 of them is enough to make your voyage miserable. Aggressive as the chelicerate, and in very tight areas that you must traverse. Shadow Leviathan: You will 100% encounter this thing. They lose their 1 hit kill attack, but that makes them more of a threat, as they cannot grab the vehicle and shock them away. Fortunately there are just 4 of them, but they are in heavy transit areas near surface. This thing will zoom to your position in seconds from far away, and likes to stealth attack. Quite rare, unless you visit the EDZ, expect death there.Ĭhelicerate: Almost the same as the Reaper, but quieter and I feel more aggressive. Fortunately their roars warns you that some are in the vincity.Īdult Ghost: same as the Juvenile, except bigger and meaner. Reaper: Very aggressive, has a one hit kill attack, and are quite some of them and near surface. Juvenile Ghost: Not too common, and don't have a one hit kill attack, they can be avoided. Sea threader: Ocean floor walkers that mind their business, but will defend themselves if you get close. Ventgarden: Completely harmless on their own, but as they are quite deep and you can enter them, there's a risk of drowning if you are careless. Glow whale: Gives you rides and often are on the surface Juvenile Sea Emperor: The only leviathan that directly helps, in scaring away other predators.Īdult Sea Emperor: Her pool have many docile creatures, and she cannot attack you. My husband scoops up the spiders that freak me out and puts them outside. My own opinion/ranking of threatness of leviathans from inoffensive to death imminent. It's funny how the mind reacts to some things instictively, more for some, less for others. But small garden spiders and things like Wolf Spiders still freak me out. I can pet them, and let them crawl all over me. I told before on a post how spiders scare me. And don t feel pressured by anyone who tells you that "You should get over it and deal with it right now!" It's different for all of us. I know how to avoid, distract, befirend, elude, escape.īut that is how it was for me. ![]() I still shiver when I hear predators scream. Just took time and paying attention, and learning behaviors for me. But always watching how they act, what triggers them, what makes them swim away, what makes them friendlier or at least less aggro. Same with the other toothy things that want to bite my face off. ![]() Then back to Freedom to play with Reapers. That changed, you have to be closer now, so some relearning when that happened. Less scary each time, knowing it could not kill me, and I got used to the sound, learned how far away I had to be before I heard it. Then going into Creative to swim with one, and see how it reacted to the Moth, with or without me inside. irst few times a Reaper grabbed me in my Seamoth, shook me and then killed me, it was jumpscary. And it made me stop and almost panic, looking around to see what made that scream. you could hear him from further away then. learned h their AI and how to stay safe around them, even be freinds with them. (My first games were all in Freedom Mode, I didn't start Creative Mode until I wanted to stop dying for a little while, lol!) I got used to the Stalkers, saw how they behaved. Lol! The Stalkers freaked me out when I first started playing. ![]()
